'WATCH YOUR TACKLE!' ALERT

BREAKING NEWS - LONDON

England and Ireland football supporters have been warned to ‘watch their tackle’ in this summer’s Euros because of a deadly biting insect that attacks the groin.

The warning comes from UK charity Tick Alert which has set up a special page on its website Tickalert.org dedicated to football supporters heading to the event.

A spokesman said: 'Our message to travelling fans is "watch your tackle".

'Ticks lie in wait and crawl unnoticed to a nice warm spot on your body, usually the groin although the armpit is another favourite feeding place.
'Underwear offers little protection against these blood-sucking pests.
Am on a roll here, what with the avert alert and now this warning about nasties in your tackle.  "Tackle" in UK is another word for 'private parts'...

Wonder if "Superman" underpants offer better protection or "Batman".  You have been warned...

  1. Uncanny. As I was reading this I felt something on my left shin. Lifted up my pant leg to find a brown deer tick rushing madly towards my privates. Apparently, GI Joe skivvies offer no protection. Maybe going commando is best.
