BAKED SOCKS ANYONE?

My dears, seeing a large group enjoy the hostel and all it has to offer these past days, has given this old geezer much to think on.  The kitchen was used normally, as were the loos and showers.  What a joy to see folks treat the hostel as they would own home.

That is not always the case, and much of the odd behaviour of past guests came to mind these past days.

Who can forget the lady who booked into the dorm and proceeded to hand wash personal items in basin, wring out and use the rack in the cooker as a dryer.  Stockings were the least of it.

Then there was the chap who took a shower with clothes on, washed, removed, placed in pile and proceeded to string up a clothes line between bunks in the dorm to dry all of his wash.

One of the more colourful guests made his salad and ate it all the while illuminating his plate with a lamp set on his head. All the better to see his greens?

My all time favourite has to be the guests who take all of the tea and sugar packets, along with all of the loo rolls, all the better to be comfy while camping out under the stars.

The Big Kahuna says it is not our place to correct bad behaviour, manners not learned were well in place before guests set foot in the hostel.

How wondrous it was to see kitchen used proper, loos and showers not abused, and good manners displayed in the common areas.  Mind, 90% of guests are lovely, but some spoons do get by from time to time...

Never a dull moment, to be sure...
