Sacrebleu! Imagine me horror to discover that Linda Villa has folks who feel that they deserve FREE electric.
The rental agreement signed upon move-in clearly states that each tenant is responsible for providing electric and gas to unit rented. In a perfect world, one assues that the new tenant makes the call to transfer the electric into their own names, making them responsible for bills. Mind, I said a 'perfect world' and life at Linda Villa Complex in anything but perfect.
Due to move out, it came to our attention that there had been fraud done unto us and PG&E. The tenant who had moved out had never turned on the electric. The use of electric, without care to cost, went on the entire time that tenant lived in the unit. Talk about brass. It gets worse, the tenant wanted her security deposit back and was going to get until the electric fraud came to light. Imagine that.
Dear reader, get a grip of chair, there is more to tell...
Turns out that one unit was not alone in the electric fraud. One unit has been getting a FREE ride on electric for close to 9 months, another has been pulling power for almost 4 months. 4 units have been found out so far. What cheek, you move in and along with not paying rent, fail to pay any other bills as well. One must tell me how that is possible.
What makes the crime so horrid, is that each person found out so far receives government benefits to cover living expenses. We are talking about a fair amount that clearly is not going for purpose meant. Takes being a benefits cheat to a whole new level. We are talking about over $800.00 tax free with no rent to pay and no expense to heat, cool or illuminate place lived. Makes 'living rough' look very attractive.
Kay Properties has to pay electric for complex. The lovely Francesca has to pay, as does this old geezer and others. Is is wrong to expect that all will pay for electric used? Wrong to alert PG&E to the crime? Wrong to alert CPS that children will have no utilities with the shut off?
Sacrebleu!!! Me blood runs hot at the thought of how much the stolen electric cost. One will have got over $900.00, another 450.00, yet another over $300.00. Might as well light up the electric meter if you do not care about the cost. Leave all of the lamps lighted and heat and cool on all day. How bloody grand.
We have alerted PG&E of the fraud and the meters will be shut down. The tenants will be forced to get electric in own name, and pay for power stolen. Sadly, the reason they did the crime is due to being unable to get electric due to past problems with PG&E.
My dears, the children will suffer. The adults seem to not care. Why must the children pay for the sins of the adults, over and over again. How can society allow good money be wasted each and every month? I will tell you true, being it is so cold, there will be no clild without electric. The proper authourities will be rung up.
In a 'perfect world' life would be without cost. FREE. My dears, there is no such place. Not for you or me or anyone else. I am gobsmacked at the cheek displayed by the electric thieves. They will tell the whole world that I am an 'evil old man'. That is the way of the world, so be it. More's the pity that some folks will only see the harsh action taken to stop thieves and not consider the crime.
