Together with other abnormal ear noises, ear ringing is medically called tinnitus. Buzzing, roaring, and pulsitile sounds are sometimes perceived when no sound is present in persons with tinnitus.
Tinnitus can arise in any of the four sections of the ear: the outer ear, the middle ear, the inner ear, and the brain. Tinnitus is often accompanied by hearing loss.

Mind, old Chinese Proverb says;

If there is ringing in your left ear, this means that your girlfriend or loved one is thinking of you. If in the right ear, then you will lose money.

This condition is side effect of surgery and abates in short order.  The old geezer has been shouting much of late...

Taste function significantly contributes to the enjoyment

of foods during eating and drinking.' In
turn, an impaired sense of taste may lead to changes
of dietary habits and to a decrease in the quality of
life.2 Oral taste perception is mediated predominantly
by 2 pairs of cranial nerves: the seventh nerve or
chorda tympani nerve (CTN), which joins the lingual
nerve and innervates the anterior two thirds of
the tongue, and the ninth nerve or lingual branch of
the glossopharyngeal nerve, which innervates the
rear part of the tongue.^ The CTN travels through
the middle ear, between the long crus of the incus
and the manubrium of the malleus, near the upper
part ofthe tympanic membrane.'^ Consequently, during
middle ear surgery the CTN is affected to certain
degrees depending on the performed procedure.

Very queer taste has put me off coffee, tea and almost all groceries.  I know what things are meant to taste like and it is not metal, or worse.  Again, this condition will abate over time.  No clue how long, but if it lasts any length, the old geezer will be on the world's best diet...

Pillow Blood Battles

Remember the good doctor told that blood flow was 'normal'?  Guess that depends on your idea of normal.  Waking up each day finds the remains of another bloody night.  What with the pillow covering, dried caked blood on face and neck and night-shirt, the old geezer is a sight to behold.  Is a wonder I have not been found stuck to the bed linen...

Truth be told, TIDE works wonders.

Each day brings with it a whole new set of sensations.  I can actually feel the healing process.  REALLY.   I can not wait to return to doctor on Wednesday.  I have me list, do not want to shout, and will ask his best opinion on how long he thinks the weird will last based on his experience.
