CHICAGO - 1871

On this day in history, Chicago was destroyed by fire.  Mind it was but three miles and Alan's house was spared.....

WINDY CHICAGO

If you can believe, the train blew off the tracks and ran up onto the escalator.....

Mind, it was the train to the airport and some clever person must have wanted to catch his plane before he was late...

They do call Chicago, "The Windy City".  My good mate who left Chicago some two years ago still think in "Chicago" terms.  This 'windy' tale of Chicago should make him feel right at home...

It might well have been 'gas' being passed on the train....

CHICAGO 'TOMATO PIE'

Even though many believe that thin crust pizza evolved over time into its Chicago deep dish counter part, Scalia stands by his original belief that , 'Real pizza is Neapolitan. It is thin. It is chewy and crispy, OK?'

CHICKEN DANCE CHAMPION RETURNS

"Youngest Roomie" Returns
There are times that the gods throw a real gem me way.  Today is 'National Dance Like a Chicken Day'.  What, you clever folks have never heard of this holiday?  Might well be due to where you hail from.  Alan comes from Chicago.  The home of 'dead voters', Oprah's Diet Farm and the all time champions of Chicken Dancing.

Gentlemen of the orchestra, a little Chicken Dance music...

How funny is that?

Alan has been busy sorting out things to be able to return to lovely Reno.  Been gone for two months.  During which, the old geezer has kept him aware of what is happening in the place he will be calling home.

The old geezer is quite fond of Alan.  Sort of grows on you, like a fungus in the shower, Alan does.  His dry wit is so very British and one waits with bated breath to hear what gems he will post on me blog.

Mind, Alan is one of the gems in life one would have missed if one were to be closed minded to.  One has to draw out Alan.  It is well worth the effort.  Rather think that the old geezer will be keeping Alan in loop for long time to come.  Alan makes me laugh and think.  How special is that?

Rather think we need a little more music...
