Some years back I helped out at a friend's hostel and quickly discovered that travellers who snore are the bane of the hostel business. Nothing can clear out a dorm faster, than a man or woman who snores.
I remember that one young chap snored so bad, that the other men in the dorm threw change at him to get him to stop. The change throwing did not work...
You would think that folks who snore would not place themselves in a dorm. Mind, many of the travellers were a bit on the young side, liked to have a few drinks. Seems the heavy drinking can make the problem of sleeping 'quietly' more difficult.
Not that I ever slept in the female dorm, but there were women who snored so loudly that others would leave the dorm and sleep in chairs in the lobby.
The old geezer does not snore. Having shared rooms and cabins with others, have never woke with change on the floor.........
Mind, there was the odd dollar.....
